ZHORA & THE SNAKE | JOANNA CASSIDY

Vector portrait of actress Joanna Cassidy as Zhora “Salome”, a character from the 1982 science fiction film Blade Runner.

The film is loosely based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K Dick, and was directed by Ridley Scott.

The movie takes place in the near future (2019), where a particularly brutal and cunning group of replicants (genetically engineered synthetic humans) have escaped on Earth in search for life.

They hope to find a way to exceed their four-year lifespan and plan to stop at nothing in order to succeed.

One of the them, Zhora, lives in hiding with her animoid snake, posing as an exotic dancer. She performs daily at a sleazy night club, Taffey’s Snake Pit Bar, where she is soon discovered and killed by “blade runner” Rick Deckard.
