NOTIO IDENTITY AND PACKAGING

“Notio the Greek Olive Estate” is the brand name of an estate located at the village of Agios Floros in the Messinia region, on the south of the Peloponnese in Greece. They produce quality bio products based on the main ingredient of the Greek diet, olive oil.

One of the initial goals of the project was to make clear that Notio Goods is a company that is proud of its south-european roots. In the south people “do things differently”. Outsiders tend to get the impression of disorder, whereas in reality it is just a matter of a different logic.

Similarly, the letters that form the brand name or the product name throughout the identity on a first look appear disorderly, as there is no apparent alignment.

A closer look will reveal though that the alignment of each word is based on a central vertical axis that unites the typography. This axis symbolizes durable Greek values, such as simplicity, purity and clarity.

The typeface used for the brand and product names was designed from scratch.

The products

Notio Premium Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the first of their products.

It won a merit at the 2014 Greek Design & Illustration Awards (EVGE) in the Olive Oil Packaging category.

The quantity of Notio olive oil produced each year is very restricted, so each bottle is individually numbered, with its unique number written by hand on the top of the safety strip that secures the cap.

The second of their products is Notio Olive Leaf Tea. It is made from the leaves of the same olive trees that their olive oil comes from.

The Notio Olive Leaf Tea won a Star (3rd place) at the Great Taste Awards in 2014.
